GENERAL PURPOSE

The Project Director will be responsible for developing and executing and managing renewable energy projects, ensuring delivery of a safe, operational, high efficiency projects to CEM clients. Projects may entail provision of engineering services and contract administration only or may require full EPCM services.

The Project Director will develop and lead a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Designers, Procurement Experts, Construction Managers and sub-contractors as required. The Project Director will work closely with the firm’s Senior Director of Operations and business development team in targeting, developing and obtaining client assignments in Canada and the US. This position will report to the firm’s Senior Director of Operations.

MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and develop projects in conjunction with client staff and support from CEM leadership.
• Lead the planning and implementation of projects
• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
• Manage client expectations and client satisfaction throughout duration of the project
• Define project tasks and resource requirements
• Develop full scale project plans
• Assemble and coordinate project staff, subconsultants, and contractors
• Manage project engineering budget.
• Manage project resource allocation and identify resource needs
• Plan and schedule project timelines
• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
• Provide direction and support to project team and subconsultants
• Ensure proper QA / QC is undertaken
• Present frequent reports defining project progress, current issues, and proposed solutions
• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

CEM Leadership anticipates that the initial focus will be to leverage both CEM’s and the candidates existing network of contacts (i.e., existing customers) to pursue smaller work packages, likely energy management or plant upgrade work in nature.
