Building Envelope Engineer - Senior

Adecco is actively seeking a Senior Building Science / Building Envelope Engineer to join their team in Ottawa, ON. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, analysis, and implementation of various building science engineering projects, focusing on both new construction and post-construction restoration. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead diverse projects while providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Job type : Permanent | Full-time Responsibilities :

Lead and oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of various building science engineering projects for new construction and post-construction restoration.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate building science principles into the design process for residential and commercial construction projects.

Conduct on-site investigations and performance testing of building envelope components, producing technical engineering reports.

Review and provide senior-level consultation on technical reports and project specifications prepared by junior engineers and technologists for building envelope-related projects, assessments, and investigations.

Oversee field inspection and reporting for various building envelope-related construction projects.

Stay up to date with the latest advancements in building science, green building technologies, and building code standards.

Prepare engineering proposals for building science-related projects and liaise directly with clients.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.

Handle other miscellaneous duties as required. Requirements :

Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.

Degree in Engineering, preferably in Building Science, Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering.

10+ years of relevant experience in building science, with a focus on building envelope and related projects.

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario.

In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and construction / contract legislation.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English.

Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Self-motivated, adaptable, and detail oriented.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
