Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code to implement innovative features and improve existing ones.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of designers, product managers, and fellow developers to bring ideas to life.
- Actively participate in code reviews to ensure that best practices and standards are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software bugs and performance issues.
- Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies.
- Generate and maintain documentation for testing, manufacturing, and product specifications.
- Support the development / maintenance of project proposals and plans by providing inputs on technical tasks, schedules, and cost estimates.
Qualifications
Due to security requirements, the candidate must be a Canadian or US citizen, or a permanent resident of Canada, and will be required to provide a criminal record check as a condition of employment.Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with a strong academic record.5+ years of experience in software design and development.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to review and assess information to guide recommendations and planning for new system installations or system upgrades.Capability to develop, read, implement, enhance, test and maintain code for new software, as well as integrate and modify existing software.Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.Ability to generate clear and detailed technical documents, including system architecture designs, requirements and verification matrices, design specifications, test procedures, and technical reports / presentations.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with customers and working within a multi-disciplinary team of scientific, engineering, manufacturing, and management personnel.Creativity, self-motivation, organization, receptiveness to constructive feedback, and the ability to learn quickly on a continuous basis.Willingness and ability to travel internationally on an occasional basis.Why join the BTI team

$60,000.00 – $100,000.00 (37.5 hours per week).
