Assist in preparation of all month end and quarter close activities including : trial balance review, routine and non-routine journal entry preparation, general ledger maintenance, preparation of financial statements and balance sheet account reconciliationsResponsible for general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation and month end closingAct as liaison by coordinating accounting matters between divisional associates and other department managersPrepares various financial reports such as Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable reconciliation , sub-ledgers and balance sheet accounts, expense analysis, daily / monthly cash balance reporting, monthly bank reconciliation and depreciation recordsRecord transactions to journals and general ledger including but not limited to; monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, intercompany and daily sales transactionsManage the inventory process through tracking inventory movements, investigating inventory variances, reconciling inventory stock to the general ledger and participating in physical inventory counts and cycle countingActively participate in process improvement initiatives within the accounting department in order to streamline operations and manage costs. Provide solutions specific to the role on efficiencies and processes.Ensures adherence and maintenance of internal controls and financial proceduresAssist in preparation of relevant audit files for internal / external auditors and government bodiesGenerates ad hoc accounting reports as neededDevelop and maintain documentation, to support areas of responsibility.(i.e. Desktop Procedures)Assist in training newer team membersPerform related duties as assignedWhat your background should look like
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or finance related fieldWorking towards completing CPA accounting designation an assetMinimum 1-2 years of general accounting experienceExperience working with an ERP System, preferably SageProficient in Microsoft Office, with particularly strong Excel skills and good Word skillsMINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Solid fundamental knowledge of accounting practices and principlesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAssertive, comfortable communicating with various types of individualsAbility to meet deadlines and produce accurate resultsSelf-starter requiring limited supervision, along with a desire to work in a team environmentGood interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to work in a fast paced, high volume environment while remaining organized with strict attention to detailAs of October 18, 2021, AmerisourceBergen requires all Canadian team members to be fully vaccinated and show proof of completed vaccine status at time of hire.
