Position Overview

Reporting to the Superintendent, Site Services and working two (2) weeks on two (2) weeks off rotation at the Ekati Mine site, the successful candidate will be an effective leader, willing to spend necessary time and effort to coach and mentor team members. The Team Leader, Infrastructure will support and act as a Liaison for the Camp, Catering & Janitorial Contract, mentor and oversee Aviation services and passenger movement in / out of site, and direct overall Waste Management function throughout the Ekati site. The incumbent will have excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships in a unionized environment and stakeholders.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

Manage all Waste Management Activities which include the landfill maintenance, Incinerator building operation, Potable water deliveries, Sewer truck Operation and Waste Management building operations along with the storage yards for back haul off site.

Support and oversee the Camp, Catering & Janitorial Contract with quarterly meetings to review the contractual obligations.

Assign work and supervise the performance of personnel working within your responsible teams.

Responsible for employee development through one-on-one coaching and mentoring.

Support the concept of Zero Harm through effective safety, health and environment management practices.

Initiate the investigation of all accidents and incidents.

Manage and oversee the Budget and invoice payments through the Service Entry Sheets in SAP.

Support the Aviation Services Teams with all inbound / Outbound flights including adhocs and provide support towards passenger movement and bussing schedules.

Manage OPEX / CAPEX for the departments through continuous improvement and engage in departmental improvement projects including replacement of the various aged Airport or Facilities equipment.

Ensures company policies and standard operating procedures are followed.

Required to work with and thoroughly understand the ETAS and SAP Systems

Contribute to the annual budget which includes quarterly review and winter road orders and costs.

Education / Experience

Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience.

Valid Supervisory Ticket

Food safe level 2 certification.

Valid first-aid ticket.

Class 5 drivers license required for area inspections.

Knowledge and understanding of Transport Canada’s CARS / NAV Canada regulations.

Ability to influence others and drive continuous improvement without direct report control

Ability to problem solve and remain calm under pressure

Working knowledge of SAP and strong computer literacy with willingness to learn new computer skills

The Company provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points.
