Materials Handling Designer – Burnaby, BC

Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with senior engineering staff on the detailed design, 3D modelling, and drafting of mechanical and bulk materials handling systems.
- Develop both conceptual layouts and detailed designs, ranging from small maintenance upgrades (e.g., conveyor drives) to large terminal infrastructure.
- Produce clear and accurate 3D models and drawings for various stages of design, from feasibility to construction.
- Prepare quantity take-offs to support capital cost estimates and project planning.
- Integrate point cloud and geospatial data into design workflows using appropriate software tools.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (civil, structural, electrical) to ensure design integration and consistency.
Qualifications :
Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or eligible for registration.Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from a recognized institution.5+ years of experience in mechanical design and drafting, preferably within the bulk materials handling or heavy industrial sector.Proficiency with SolidWorks, Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.Experience working with lidar point clouds and integrating georeferenced data into 3D models.Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to drafting standards and quality deliverables.Compensation : Base pay range : CA$90,000.00 / yr - CA$130,000.00 / yr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Location : On-site in Burnaby, BC.
