Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Painter position works under our construction division completing restoration work for both residential and commercial properties.
Job Duties
- Setup and tear-down of job related materials including poly containment and drop sheets as required to accommodate work
- Obtain color match for various surfaces
- Apply paint and / or lacquer to multiple surfaces, to include but not limited to, drywall, ceilings, baseboards, casings, doors, etc
- Smooths surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces to prepare them for painting
- Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler
- Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that
matches specified colors
Removes fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls prior to paintingSpreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings and covers surfaces such as baseboards, door frames, and windowswith masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting
Paints surfaces with brushes, spray gun, or paint rollersSimulates wood grain, marble, brick or tiles effectsApplies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effectsErects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground levelMaintain a clean and hazard free job siteMaintain and clean equipment as requiredProvide excellent customer serviceWork under time constraints to meet specific timelinesEnsure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and informationParticipates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and proceduresto support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment

2+ years experience in related fieldConstruction / Restoration / Insurance experience preferredComprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practicesEligible to operate a motor vehicle per Belfor ’s vehicle policyAbility to work within a team or independently as neededStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environmentBasic computer and / or tablet / iPad experienceWilling to work evenings, on call and weekends when requestedPeriodic travel may be requiredCriminal Record CheckPhysical Demands
