Maintain Financial Records : Post journal entries, manage general ledger accounts, and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
Reconcile and Resolve : Perform regular bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution.
Process Transactions : Handle accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payments, and employee expense reports.
Support Reporting Cycles : Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, government remittances, and other required reports.
Audit Readiness : Support both internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Collaborate Across Teams : Work closely with other departments to ensure financial data is aligned and accurate.
Ad Hoc Analysis : Provide financial insights and reporting as needed to support business decisions.
Ensure Compliance : Follow established accounting procedures and stay up to date with relevant financial regulations. Requirements :
Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
Experience : 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a similar role
Education : Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
Tech-Savvy : Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel; familiarity with Sage 50, MS Dynamics, SAP, or other ERP systems is a definite asset
Accounting Know-How : Solid understanding of accounting principles, month-end processes, and financial reporting
Detail-Oriented : You have a sharp eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
Self-Starter : Comfortable managing your own workload and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
