Electrical Controls Technician

Location: 944 Highway 8, Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada.
Schedule: Monday to Friday shifts + occasional weekends (40 hours per week), with availability to shift work schedule based on facility needs.
Salary: $49.97 CAD/hour.

Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and service programs for packaging and process equipment controlling electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Communicate and update firmware, software, and associated links with plant equipment.
- Write to various vendor programs to implement changes requested by production.
- Create programs/applications with PLC/HMI for new or replacement installations.
- Understand packaging and process requirements and effects of change.
- Participate in ongoing training on new equipment and maintenance practices.
- Update or create schematics for existing equipment.
Qualifications
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC 500/5000, HMI ME/Panelbuilder, Panelview Plus, DeviceNet, Modbus.
- Experience with amplifier/servo programming.
- Technical background in sophisticated packaging or mechanical equipment repair.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 5+ years industrial electrician certificate or equivalent.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and value team effort.
- Problem solving and planning skills.
- Work with engineering department on projects and upgrades.
- C of Q – Industrial or Construction Electrician (309A or 442).
- Food manufacturing experience considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must bend, twist, push, pull as needed to complete work tasks.
