We are seeking an experienced Controller who ideally has manufacturing experience to join our client's team in Oro-Medonte. The ideal candidate will possess strong CPA qualifications and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills with a hands-on approach. As a Controller, you will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. This is an in office role.
Key Responsibilities of the Controller include but not limited to :
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the Leadership Team, contributing to business planning, growth initiatives, and decision-making
- Provide financial insights, forecasting, and scenario analysis to support scaling operations in Canada and the U.S.
- Support long-term planning, capital allocation, and expansion strategies
Accounting & Financial Operations
Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including AR, AP, inventory, payroll, month-end close, and year-end processesEnsure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsManage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisEnsure compliance with Canadian and U.S. regulatory, tax, and reporting requirementsCoordinate with external accountants, auditors, and advisorsOwn cash management processes including daily cash positioning, short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimizationOversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and covenant complianceMonitor customer credit risk, establish and enforce credit policies, and oversee AR collections and credit limitsSystems & Process Improvement
Lead or support ERP system implementation and optimizationDevelop and maintain financial dashboards and reporting using Power BIContinuously improve financial processes, controls, and internal reportingEnsure data integrity and scalable financial systems suitable for high growthLeadership & People Management
Lead, manage, and hold accountable a team of two Finance Associates using strong LMA (Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable) practicesCoach, mentor, and develop team members, fostering growth and accountabilityBuild a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance teamProvide functional oversight and coordination for outsourced HR and IT service providers, ensuring service levels, cost effectiveness, and alignment with company prioritiesCollaborate with leadership on HR-related processes including payroll oversight, benefits administration, and people data reportingOperate within an EOS® (Entrepreneurial Operating System) environmentOwn and manage finance-related Rocks, Scorecard metrics, and quarterly prioritiesSupport leadership meetings with clear financial reporting and insightsRequirements
Required
7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experienceProven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting ManagerStrong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting skillsHands-on experience with ERP system implementationAdvanced experience with Power BI and financial analyticsDemonstrated ability to lead, manage, and hold team members accountableExperience working in a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial businessPreferred
