We are presently accepting resumes for a full-time Infant and Child Development Worker to work in our Preschool Services Department. This position assists families when an infant or preschool child may be identified with, or at risk of a developmental delay. This is a contract position until March 31st, 2025, working up to 37.5 hours per week .

Compensation package :

  • Minimum starting rate of $33.33 per hour;
  • 11 statutory holidays are observed, with public holiday pay;
  • 4% vacation pay paid on each pay cheque;
  • Confidential Employer paid EAP program for you and your family members.

Minimum requirements of these positions include :

  • Degree in Child and Family Studies, Social or Health Sciences, Nursing or Early Childhood Education;
  • Minimum one-year recent full time work experience working with infants, preschool children and families;
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills and excellent attendance and punctuality are required;
  • Special factors of this position :

  • Must be prepared to work flexible hours;
  • Must have a valid Class G driver's License and own reliable transportation;
  • Willing to work and travel across Simcoe County;
  • Duties and responsibilities (including, but not limited to) :

  • Developing a collaborative relationship with families and / or care-givers;
  • Identify strengths / needs, developmental assessment of infants and preschool children using appropriate assessment tools;
  • Assisting parents and / or caregivers in the development and implementation of family service plans, report writing, communicating with other Agencies / professionals regarding individual children / families and providing planned community education in consultation with the Supervisor.
  • Electronic record keeping, developing and writing Individual Family Service Plans in conjunction with the family, referral and follow-up as appropriate;
  • Communication with other agencies / professionals in order to provide integrated service delivery for individual children / families;
