About the job Team Lead - Plastic Extrusion
The Team Lead Extrusion Operator operates a sheet extrusion line/slitter machine in our client's 24/7 production operation in Brampton, ON, working 12-hour continental shifts or 8-hour shifts, as per current Company demands.
The team lead's role involves running extrusion, winding, and slitting equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up extrusion machinery safely and efficiently with good quality.
- Start up production lines (extruders, winders, packaging).
- Operate the resin material feeding system.
- Operate auxiliary equipment (e.g., heating/cooling units, grinders).
- Change tapes manually, fabric master rolls with cranes.
- Shutdown of the production line (setting of cool-down temperatures on extruders, etc.).
- Operate the thickness profile scanner and extrusion die.
- Operate a highly automated slitter machine and winder.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the shift Team Leader.
Qualifications
- Experience in plastics extrusion, automation equipment, or a suitable technical background with experience with production equipment in the Plastics/Automotive industry is highly desired.
- Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation is desired.
- Secondary school graduate preferred (high school diploma).
- Prior leadership/supervisory experience is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Shift work in a 24h/7d production environment.
- Shifts are two weeks 7am-7pm, two weeks 7pm-7am.
- Shift premium available for night shifts (7pm-7am).
