Collection Specialist

• Understanding and knowledge of the Transportation and Construction landscape
• Understanding of collections and repossession legal requirements and best practices
• Bilingual* (French/English) is an asset
• Proven track record of meeting collections targets while maintaining customer focus
• BA is preferred combined with 5+ years of commercial collections experience with at least 2+ of those years handling Transportation and Construction accounts
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook experience
• Ability to make decisions within established guidelines
• Organized, efficient, knowledgeable, accurate and professional
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Problem analysis and problem-solving ability
• Ability to effectively multitask and manage competing priorities to meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaborate with others in cross-functional settings
• Innovative thinking yielding creative solutions and alternatives
• Highly inquisitive by nature, with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for details
• Ability to successfully apply standard financial, accounting and business problem-solving skills to business problems

*Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matterswith internal and external parties in both languages.
