Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on 3-6 month contract basis in Mississauga, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee the financial operations of the Non-Profit organization, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to lead a dedicated finance team and contribute to the success of a non-profit organization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full cycle accounting process, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.

• Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

• Supervise and provide guidance to two direct reports within the finance department.

• Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement financial strategies.

• Monitor and analyze the organization's financial performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

• Ensure proper handling of fund accounting and non-profit accounting practices.

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements to support organizational goals.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department.

• Support audits and ensure timely completion of all audit requirements.

• Extensive experience in full cycle accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.

• Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting and fund accounting principles.

• Previous experience managing and mentoring finance teams.

• Proficiency in financial reporting and budgeting processes.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication abilities to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
