What qualifications are we looking for?

A Bachelor of Education, Physical Education or a related degree or diploma is an asset
Climbing Wall Instructor ACMG or CUI Level 1 or higher is an asset
A minimum of two years’ experience working with youth
Experience with day camps, supervising staff, and program development
Excellent customer service attitude
Availability in the evenings and weekends to meet community and branch needs
Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certifications
Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Reporting to the Day Camps & Climbing ILT Manager (North) will :
Lead the team of staff and volunteers working for Day Camps & Climbing including hiring, training and performance management.
Adhere to policies & procedures that support high standards for Health & Safety and Child Safety & Protection.
Provide regional leadership for summer and seasonal Day Camps including Summer, Winter Break, Teacher’s Convention and Spring Break.
Play an active role as a member of the Day Camps & Climbing ILT’s by attending regularly scheduled meetings and in-services.
Oversee the budget for Day Camps & Climbing by reporting on variances, managing expenses and monitoring revenue generation.
Ensure all administration systems are in place and are adhered to as set by YMCA Calgary.
Take initiative to support program cycles for Day Camps & Climbing including registration, program cancellations and wait list management.
Provide branch support at Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton assuming weekly Duty Manager Shifts and engage Healthy Safety Training and Duty Manager In-Services.
Assist with the annual YMCA campaign by developing relationships with program participants to raise their campaign awareness
