Robert Half is looking for a Cost Accountant in Delta BC! This position will be part of a large global organization with their Canadian head office and report to the Cost Accounting Manager on site! As part of an organization that takes pride in offering a flexible, supportive and collaborative work environment, the Cost Accountant will play an integral part in supporting the operational decision-making process of the management team.

As such, we are seeking an individual with a strong background & knowledge of cost accounting, a knack for problem-solving, and a detailed and thorough approach. You are highly analytical with an investigative mindset. You are able to multi-task effectively and adapt to changing priorities. You are driven to achieve results and able to collaborate with department heads from various internal groups.

CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION :

• Maintain and manage WIP reports
• Calculate cost per unit and report operational results
• Investigate and explain variances on a regular basis
• Maintain and update costing database and records in the SAP system
• Reconcile accounts at period end and post any adjustments as required
• Analyze the operational performance (including pricing, cost, and product performance) and report to the management team
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets
• Assist with forecasting & decision-making process
• Perform other analyses / produce adhoc reports as required
