Support design and administration of compensation and recognition programs
Administer variable incentive plans, ensure accurate calculations and payouts, communication to employees; assist in the design of such plans as needed
Participate in annual benchmark and salary planning surveys; provide market analysis as needed
Maintain, update and regularly audit job profiles / descriptions, merit plans, bonus plans in Workday and ensure compensation plans are accurate
Prepare reports and analysis on a regular and ad-hoc basis
Provide analysis for special compensation or recognition related studies and ad-hoc projects as needed and contribute to research, recommendations, trend analysis
Provide support for the annual merit and bonus process in Workday ensuring adherence to policy and accurate implementation of compensation changes
Provide support for the job evaluation process to establish accurate grading and salary levels for all positions in the organization, ensuring internal relativity and compliance with related legislation
Draft communications, employee letters or presentations as needed
Ensure compensation and recognition communication materials and verbiage on technology platforms are up to date
Respond to employee queries related to compensation or recognition programs
Key Qualifications
Post-Secondary degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
Two LOMA courses (1) Principles of Insurance : Life, Health and Annuities (FMLI 280) and (2) Insurance Company Operations (FMLI 290) to be taken within the first two (2) years of employment or equivalent
An experienced Human Resources or Compensation professional, with 2+ years progressive experience in the area of human resources or compensation
Experience with HRMS, preferably Workday
Understanding of the concepts, principles and practices of compensation plans, including base pay, commissions, incentive plans and job evaluation
Knowledge of employment standards and other relevant provincial and state employment legislation
Excellent computer skills, including MS Office with Word and in particular Excel;
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills; able to translate complex technical data into accurate and meaningful analysis and reports
Ability to deal with confidential issues in a sensitive, efficient and professional manner
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet multiple deadlines
Ability to maintain a professional, curious and positive attitude
Good presentation skills, comfortable presenting information to employees or within Human Resources
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to develop and establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal and business writing skills to effectively communicate technical information that is easily understood to stakeholders and team members
Certification or working towards certification in Human Resources Management or Compensation considered an asset
