Java Developer

Tundra Technical Solutions has a large insurance partner in Calgary that is in need of a Java Developer on a 6 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for reverse engineering old code to create new functions within an existing UI framework. The project will be around one of their insurance fleets where they will be able to use the information given by a client and create a cost rating based on the customer requirements. The team will be made up of Project Manager, a Business Analyst, 2 Developers and a QA.

• Responsibilities : Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment
• Design, develop, and implement Java-based applications using Java 8 and related technologies
• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues to ensure smooth operation of applications
• Requirements : Experience with Java 8 Development
• Experience with Hibernate
• Experience working with JPA
• Exposure to Prime Faces is nice to have
• Experience in reverse engineering and understanding old code, and build out the new code to create the new functions within the application
