Job Summary

As a member of the BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions Team, you will generally be responsible for cleaning in a designated zone with an emphasis on quality control, health and safety, and striving to exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Dry / wet mop (wash / scrub) and polish hard surface floors. (The washing / scrubbing of floors is done with handheld or auto scrubbers. In large open applications, automatic equipment may be used to perform these functions)
• Strip and finish hard surface floors manually or with power equipment (when required).
• Steam clean or shampoo carpets (when required).
• Transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor.
• Transport maintenance machinery, where necessary, between floors and job sites.
• Clean and store equipment and machinery used.
• Clean glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding or other extension equipment to reach.
• Clean washroom floors including stripping and finishing.
• Clean stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required.
• Load and unload supplies and replenish cleaning solutions.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Other duties that management may assign.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow melting chemicals (when required).
