Responsibilities :
- Safety Leadership and Compliance : Develop, implement, and oversee HSE policies and procedures to meet or exceed regulatory requirements.Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and other relevant regulations.Act as a safety advisor for all plant and field operations, promoting best practices across the organization.
- Training and Education : Conduct safety training programs for employees, contractors, and leadership to ensure awareness and adherence to safety protocols.Lead regular emergency preparedness drills and provide ongoing education about safety trends and updates.
- Incident Management and Reporting : Investigate and document workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records for audits and compliance purposes.
- Travel and Field Oversight : Conduct on-site safety inspections and assessments for field operations.Support field teams in implementing and maintaining safety standards.
- Collaboration and Team Engagement : Collaborate with leadership and operations teams to ensure safety is prioritized and integrated into all processes.Encourage employee engagement and accountability in safety practices, fostering a team-oriented culture.
Qualifications :
Certification : Must hold a recognized safety certification, such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent.Experience : Experience in manufacturing or construction is preferred. Candidates with strong potential and certification will also be considered, including confident junior professionals.Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse teams.Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.Travel : Willingness to travel up to 3–4 times per month for field operations.Compensation and Benefits :
