Family Physician - Primary Care

Interior Health Authority . The new physician will integrate into a team of two experienced providers within a well-established and highly collaborative interdisciplinary environment. The medical staff is committed and actively engaged, while the support staff is dedicated and stable. As part of the Primary Care Networks initiative, the clinic has robust connections with surrounding hospitals and medical professionals. It serves a diverse patient population spanning all ages and a wide range of medical conditions. Salmo is located near the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, as well as Nelson and Castlegar. Opportunities for part-time roles at local hospitals are available, including positions in the Emergency, Obstetrics, inpatient care, OR assist, or Long-term care, depending on the physician's interests. The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 9 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., and is closed on weekends and statutory holidays. Coverage is arranged in consultation with colleagues, and participation in local hospital rotas is encouraged.

Responsibilities

Integrate into a team of two experienced providers within a collaborative interdisciplinary environment.

Provide primary care services to a diverse patient population across all ages and conditions.

Coordinate with surrounding hospitals and medical professionals via Primary Care Networks.

Offer coverage in consultation with colleagues and participate in local hospital rotas.

Potential part-time roles at local hospitals (Emergency, Obstetrics, inpatient care, OR assist, Long-term care) depending on interests.

Maintain clinic hours : Monday–Friday, 9 : 00 a.m.–5 : 00 p.m.; weekends and statutory holidays off.
