Junior Mechanical Engineer - Advances Fuels and Chemicals
BBA Consultants is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer (CEP) to join our Consulting Engineering Services team. The role focuses on mechanical engineering works, technology selection, and project delivery for advanced fuels and chemicals, biofuel manufacturing, carbon capture, green hydrogen, water treatment, LNG, specialty chemicals, lithium processing, and more.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, understand and solve a variety of technical problems in industrial mechanics and piping.
- Actively participate in small, medium and large multidisciplinary mandates within an engineering team of engineers and technicians.
- Carry out studies and detailed engineering mandates for brownfield or greenfield projects.
- Prepare plans and specifications for mechanical mandates based on established guidelines.
- Perform calculations.
- Prepare material lists and bills of materials in accordance with codes, standards, drawings and other procedures while applying BBA’s quality system requirements.
- Perform technical data measurements at client locations.
- Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects of complex tasks.
- Occasionally coordinate the work of drafters or others at the request of a senior engineer.
- Occasionally oversee contractors on site.
Qualifications
University degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.Three years of experience or less.Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or working toward membership.Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and other applications, databases and interfaces.Strong knowledge of one or more of the following fields : pumping, reservoirs, gas treatment systems, heat exchangers and process equipment.Available for short-term (mandatory) and long-term (asset) assignments in Québec and across Canada.Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with BBA offices and clients in Québec.Advanced English skills for collaboration with BBA offices and clients in English‑speaking provinces and internationally; may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects.Asset : knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Ansys and MS Office.Asset : ASP Construction card.Asset : mechanical experience in the industrial, energy or mining sectors.Benefits
