Overview
The Opportunity : The Adult Day Program Assistant works in a variety of areas including, but not limited to personal care, health maintenance, recreation planning and implementation, charting and one-on-one resident interventions.
Responsibilities
- Provides “life enrichment” activities for residents to meet their social, emotional and spiritual needs.
- Participates in the developments of the Adult Day Support Programs / Care programs by sharing observations, information and knowledge of needs and strengths of the residents with other members of the team.
- Assists residents to and from the Dining room for meals, which may include assisting the resident to walk without or with mechanical aids.
- Provides routine treatments and care procedures to residents, under the direction of the Staff Nurse.
- Records resident program outcomes on appropriate forms & flow sheets.
- Performs all duties in a manner in which resident safety is the focus.
Qualifications
One year of experience in a long term care center or related environment is preferred.Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA / HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate.Post-secondary education is an asset.Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.If you’re motivated by the privilege of serving our seniors with dignity, respect and compassion, come join us!
