Technical Business Analyst (Data)

Position Description:

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst (Data) to act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in requirement gathering SQL scripting and data analysis with the ability to understand complex data models and ensure data governance compliance.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Gather document and analyze business requirements through meetings workshops and stakeholder interviews.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications user stories and acceptance criteria.
Liaise between business users data engineers and technical teams to ensure alignment and clarity.
Write and execute SQL queries for data validation testing and analysis.
Present data enhancement solutions to the Enterprise Data Steward Team for compliance with governance standards.
Perform functional regression and user acceptance testing (UAT) for data-related changes.
Coordinate and support the deployment of data enhancements and system updates.
Conduct production issue triage identify root causes and work with technical teams to resolve data issues.
Test and validate fixes post-deployment.
Quickly learn and navigate complex data models to support analysis and troubleshooting.
Maintain detailed documentation of requirements test results and issue resolution steps.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Data Analytics or a related field.
8 years experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in a data-centric environment.
Advanced proficiency in SQL (complex queries joins aggregations).
Strong experience in data testing UAT coordination and production support.
Understanding of data governance and data stewardship principles.
Excellent communication analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience using JIRA Confluence or Azure DevOps for requirement and test management.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI Tableau or Looker.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS Azure GCP).
