Your Role :

We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for our Pickering, ON office. This posting is for an existing vacancy for which we are actively recruiting. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities :

• Responsible for supervising large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers or as a highly specialized technical engineer in the Power sector.
• The ability to lead large or small projects is an asset
• The candidate will be capable of committing to and maintaining a project timeline and completing tasks within allocated time frames.
• The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents is required (strong organizational skills)
• Liaise with other discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for use in preparing preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarifications and solutions during construction.
• Must have strong computer-oriented skills (familiarity with Autocad, MathCad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions…etc.)
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro Software for Structural Analysis.
• Strong hand‑on expertise in the design of heavy industrial structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry), preferably in the power generation industry, and Consulting Engineering experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of power plant Station Structures and Components (SSCs) is an asset.
• Preparation and / or verification of procurement activities and deliverables.
• Review technical content of supplier / vendor bids and technical submissions.
• Perform any required inspections as necessary for procurement of material.
• Strong communication skills are required
