The Opportunity RVS is currently seeking applications for a continuing, part-time (12.5 hrs / week) Caretaker I position to provide routine cleaning duties at Nose Creek Elementary School starting immediately. Monday to Friday after school hours with the exception of 1-2 day shifts per month (as per School Year Calendar) . Nose Creek Elementary School is located in the City of Airdrie and serves students from grades K-5. For more information regarding this school, please visit their website at Under the supervision of the Head Building Operator and Building Operator, the Caretaker I provides caretaking services at their assigned RVS facilities. The Caretaker I is responsible for the housekeeping of school buildings, maintaining contents and furnishings in good appearance and in clean, tidy, sanitary condition, as assigned by their supervisor. Responsibilities Include Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks within a team environment Demonstrated pride in workmanship Keeps assigned sidewalks, steps, and entrances free from ice and snow Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator Experience working in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and other relevant legislation Education / Experience Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered Knowledge / Skills Basic knowledge of proper cleaning procedures Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision Effective written and verbal communication skills Rocky View Schools Benefits 6% vacation pay This position does not qualify for pension or benefits Rocky View School employees who are ineligible for employer paid benefits may access the supplemental benefits package at their own cost Professional development and training opportunities Free parking Pre-employment Requirements The successful candidate(s) must submit a current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment Proof of qualifications / education as required by the position Applicants must provide a professional letter of reference, attached to the job application, from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months or a list of updated references of a current / recent supervisor on your application.
