Job Title : Millwright Job Description

As a Millwright, you will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all high-speed machinery in our processing and packaging areas. Your role will include converting high-speed packaging machines for new product format changes, investigating, recommending, and executing modifications to improve existing equipment, and ensuring all products meet GMP and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections, lubricate, and make necessary repairs or adjustments on machines.
• Check machines in operation continually to detect problems and execute necessary adjustments to maintain quality control standards.
• Conduct minor electrical repairs on machines.
• Accurately complete paperwork, close work orders, and manage notifications and preventative maintenance completion.
• Collaborate with the Engineering department on machine modifications and the installation of new machinery and production systems.
• Work closely with operating colleagues to ensure high-quality products are produced while maintaining budgeted efficiencies.
• Understand and follow food safety systems and procedures.
• Participate and contribute to the development of IL6S tools and systems, including Equipment Criticality, Adjustment Points, Centerlines, and Visual Controls.
• Actively engage in changeovers and sanitation processes while seeking improvement opportunities.
• Use Root Cause Analysis tools to correct issues and eliminate breakdowns.

Work Environment

Work in a food manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, raw materials, some dust, and variable temperatures. Use of personal protective equipment is required, including protective footwear, hearing protection, hard hats, and safety glasses. Work as part of a 20-person maintenance team, including 14 millwrights and 2 maintenance planners. Please note, this is a peanut facility; candidates must ensure they are not allergic.

This is a Contract position based out of Toronto, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $44.00 / hr.
