The Opportunity
DNM Group is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role plays a key part in supporting the financial health of our growing organization by ensuring accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and timely processing of financial transactions. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Bookkeeper supports day-to-day accounting operations, job costing, regulatory remittances, and month-end and year-end preparation. Key Responsibilities
Financial Recordkeeping & Transactions
- Record, maintain, and update accurate financial transactions using accounting software.
- Post daily transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
- Ensure appropriate documentation supports all financial transactions.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely, accurate payments.Manage customer invoicing, payment tracking, and follow-up on overdue accounts.Review purchase orders and supporting documents to confirm accurate billing.Reconciliations & Controls
Reconcile bank and credit card statements and investigate variances.Monitor and reconcile petty cash.Support reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.Regulatory Remittances & Compliance
Prepare documentation for HST / GST, payroll source deductions, WSIB premiums, and other statutory filings.Maintain organized records to support audits and compliance requirements.Month-End, Year-End & Job Costing Support
Prepare reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation for month-end and year-end close.Assist external accountants with financial information and reporting.Ensure transactions are accurately coded to jobs and projects.Support job costing accuracy and project profitability reporting.Collaboration & Support
Work closely with Finance, Operations, and Project teams to align financial processes.Respond to internal and external financial inquiries in a timely and professional manner.What You Bring
Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field.Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and Microsoft Office.Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices.Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.Preferred Assets
Experience in construction, HVAC, plumbing, or contracting environments.Familiarity with job costing and project-based accounting.Experience supporting audits and year-end processes.Knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory remittances.Why Join DNM
