Experienced Police Officer (One or More) – Lethbridge Police Service

Responsibilities
- Participate in the complete recruiting process as an Experienced Police Officer, meeting standards in the Alberta Police Selection and Employment Manual and provincial guidelines.
- Complete pre-employment steps including documentation, testing (APREP / PARE considerations as applicable), medical forms, and supporting documents.
- Attend and complete required testing, interviews, security checks, background checks, and the hiring process as outlined.
- Participate in training programs, including an accelerated training program if selected.
- Maintain compliance with program requirements and provide necessary disclosures and documentation as required during the process.
Qualifications
Be a current sworn police officer with a minimum of 2 years of policing experience with a Canadian federal, provincial, municipal, or First Nations police service, or a former police officer separated within the last 2 years.Have a minimum of Alberta Grade 12 or equivalent education (certificate required).Have proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.Submit a driver’s abstract dated within six months of application, with no more than five demerit points.Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (proof of pardon required), nor any current criminal charges.Have an exemplary record of service and performance history.Special Constables and members of a police agency outside Canada are not eligible for the Experienced Officer Training Program.Compensation and Benefits
Up to $5,000 moving allowance with the submission of taxable receipts (applies to moves from more than 50 km from Lethbridge).Front loading of leave hours up to 120 hours.Salary based on experience, up to the First-Class Constable rate or Constable rank.Wage Rates (2024 rates)

All components of the selection process are administered fairly. The process can take up to six months.Download and complete the Application Form and Personal Disclosure forms. Complete all required forms (including Hearing & Vision tests, APREP / PARE medical forms) and save them.Submit the application package with supporting documents through the BambooHR link provided.Application packages will be reviewed by recruiting officers prior to APREP testing.APREP testing (concurrent with provincial standards) or PARE (4 minutes or less) is a prerequisite. APREP testing will be arranged and paid for by Lethbridge Police Service; PARE testing will be arranged and paid for by the applicant if hired.APREP tests will be booked through the recruiting officer.
