Truck Driver

Overview

In this role, the Employee shall be responsible for the timely and safe transportation of goods and materials as assigned by the Employer.

Responsibilities

• Operating commercial vehicles in compliance with all federal, provincial, and municipal laws and Company policies.
• Completing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
• Safely loading, securing, transporting, and unloading cargo.
• Ensuring documentation such as delivery receipts, bills of lading, and logbooks are completed accurately and submitted promptly.
• Reporting any accidents, delays, vehicle defects, or incidents to dispatch or management.
• Adhering to designated routes, schedules, and client-specific delivery protocols.
• Maintaining cleanliness and general upkeep of assigned vehicles.
• Cooperating with warehouse and administrative personnel to ensure efficient logistics operations.

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 or Class 3 BC Driver’s License (clean abstract required)
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred
• Physically fit: able to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly
• Strong work ethic and punctuality
• Knowledge of local and regional routes in BC
• Ability to use GPS and electronic logs
• Experience in delivering and handling large appliances (e.g., fridges, stoves, washers) – preferred
• Familiarity with appliance hookup or installation (training can be provided) – preferred
• Customer service and communication skills
• Forklift certification is an asset

Compensation & Schedule

• $20 to $23 per hour depending on experience
• Flat $200/day for skilled appliance delivery
• Full-time, with possible weekend shifts based on volume
