Electrical Engineer

Maritime Electric Company, Limited is seeking candidates for the position of Electrical Engineer .

Reporting to the Manager, T&D Engineering, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing the planning, construction, organizing, budgeting, management, and maintenance of engineering electrical projects aimed at improving the reliability of the transmission and distribution system.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities including but not limited to the following :

• Participate in design, installation and integration of the intelligent electronic devices, telecommunications systems and SCADA. Ensure that this infrastructure has been installed, maintained and operated using accepted industry standards and practices.
• Perform protection coordination, control and commissioning on the transmission and distribution system.
• Provide engineering design and construction for new substations or upgrade to existing substations using strong project management and interpersonal skills.
• Provide technical asset support to the Technical Services maintenance group.
• Coordinate and supervise projects,prepare project cost estimates, contractpreparation, design and implementation and project reports.
• Participate in distribution planning studies.
• Participate in development of Maritime Electric’s standards and procedures.
• Participate in the integration of wind and solar to Maritime Electric’s system.
• The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and is eligible for registration with Engineers PEI. Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
