The AMD S3 Business Unit IP Systems Engineering team is seeking an energetic, dynamic, experienced IP Systems Engineer to join our growing team. We work with customers to develop new products, previously including game consoles. As an IP Systems Engineer, you will drive the planning, pre-silicon execution, validation, silicon bring-up and debug of AMD processor and graphics based systems while working closely with internal teams to meet product development milestones.

This role specifically focuses on driving the planning, validation, silicon bring-up and debug of AMD graphics IP and related systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in systems design development throughout entire product lifecycle, from pre-silicon and emulation through post-silicon and software integrationCollaborate with Design, Software, Tools and other teams to drive the definition of testing and debug methodologies to provide the best possible coverage and customer experience for the AMD IPWork with Program Leadership team to define the end to end plan and highlight possible risk areas and address concerns during planningIsolation and debug of issues found in Graphics IP during pre-silicon, bring-up, validation, and production phases of S3 productsAble to proactively support team culture that fosters knowledge sharing, excellence, and collaborationDefining and executing validation strategies, enablement of features and unit test plansPublishing and aligning test plan requirements and dependenciesWorking closely with supporting teams such as design, diagnostics, driver, and project leadershipLead cross-functional technical discussions to drive root cause identification and resolution on technical issuesDriving and participating in technical innovations to enhance AMD’s validation capabilities including tool and script developments, technical and methodology enhancementsREQUIREMENTS
In-depth knowledge of SOC architecture and conceptsIn-depth knowledge of Graphics hardware pipelineExperience with graphics engines and rendering software pipelinesStrong understanding of BIOS, OS, and driver-level interactions and common failure pointsGood understanding of Boot Flows / SequencesStrong programming / scripting skills (eg. Python, C / C++, Ruby)Experience with IP / System level bring-up, SOC debug techniques and methodologiesExperience with common lab equipment, computer hardware, and networksLed process improvement initiatives to improve engineering qualityStrong technical leadership and mentoring skillsKnowledge of standard power management features and use-casesPREFERRED EXPERIENCE
2-4 years of relevant experience in pre and post-silicon validation and 2-4 years experience in semiconductor industryPersonal passion for computer gaming and driving game performance goalsDemonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quicklyExperience with IP / System level bring-up, SOC debug techniques and methodologiesStrong understanding of BIOS, OS, and driver-level interactions and common failure pointsStrong analytical / problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detailsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-starter, strong collaborator, and able to independently drive tasks to completionStrong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple issues at the same timeACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field strongly preferredAssets
