About the role
We are looking for a Manager in our Corporate Finance Group Accounting Policy team who will support strategic initiatives at Intact Financial Corporation (IFC) by providing accounting advisory on complex transactions and who will remain at the forefront of latest IFRS developments whilst providing in house training to various business sectors and maintaining the Group’s set of accounting policies.
You may also have the opportunity to play an important role as an Accounting Policy subject matter expert in strategic finance transformation projects.

Here are a few ways you will make a difference :
- Become a Subject Matter Expert on IFC’s IFRS accounting policies including, but not limited to, IFRS 17.
- Advise Segment & Corporate Finance leaders on appropriate application of IFC’s accounting policies in complex upcoming transactions.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with IFC’s accounting positions within each reporting segment and coordinate the exchanges with external auditors.
- Analyse and monitor the development of IFRS accounting positions taken by peers within the Industry & accounting standard bodies.
- Assist on an ad hoc basis in the optimization and implementation of financial systems and processes to ensure compliance with the changes in IFRS standards.
- Contribute to the training of the various departments on IFC’s accounting policies and act as a contact person toward the various stakeholders.
- Assist team members with various ad hoc accounting policy related projects.
Your Skills
- CPA title or equivalent
- At least 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience in research, analysis and implementation of changes to accounting policies
- Strong analytical skills, ability to communicate and work collaboratively with various stakeholders
- Bilingualism (French / English)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, power point)
- Knowledge of reinsurance, insurance and IFRS 17 (asset)
