Programmer Analyst Advisory, Cobol, CICS

Join to apply for the Programmer Analyst Advisory, Cobol, CICS role at Scotiabank . The position requires a strong background in business systems development, analytical problem solving, and experience in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

Support key development and act as a business analyst backup as required.
Develop and support systems to meet user requirements, identifying technical solutions for business problems in a rapidly changing environment.
Manage your solution, ensuring full integration, minimizing technical debt, and escalating issues through the proper channels.
Work autonomously within an Agile team, refining the product backlog and prioritizing business value.
Lead by coaching, encouraging a positive work environment and providing technical guidance to the team.

Qualifications

Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent education / experience.

5‑7 years of IT experience, with a minimum of 4 advanced technical years.

Proficiency in Cobol, SQL, AIX Shell Script, and experience with application servers such as WAS.

Experience with AIX, DB2, MS SQL Server, Oracle or similar RDMS.

Advanced knowledge of Agile development, SpringBoot, and CI / CD pipeline tools.

Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver proposals, user support, and interact with team members and other departments.

Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative, changing environment.
