Title : Senior Cloud Platform Architect

Location : Markham, Ontario

Duration : 06 Months

Introduction

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Cloud Platform Architect, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure. We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to driving innovative solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in one or more major cloud platforms, such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS
Experience with modularized Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and industry tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Packer
Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and security group configurations
Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools like AWS CloudWatch, EFK / ELK Stack, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Datadog, or New Relic
Educated to a degree level in Computer Science or equivalent
10+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and container registries

Understanding of microservices principles and best practices for designing scalable and modular architectures

Familiarity with serverless computing services and functions like Azure Functions or AWS Lambda

Proficient in cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing, and security groups

Knowledge of diagramming tools and methodologies like Miro, Diagrams.net, Figjam, or Mermaid.JS

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Help develop and maintain cloud architectural artifacts, including networking, firewalling, and routing

Contribute to scalable IaC strategies and platform vs. service level architecture

Enable cloud policies, procedures, and standards, focusing on disaster resiliency, recovery, and availability planning

Support cloud operational practices and drive organization-wide projects

Manage relationships with cloud service providers to ensure smooth operations and support

Ensure compliance with organizational security practices and auditing

Mentor and train team members on cloud practices
