Seeking a Senior Production Geologist to join the Mine Technical Services (MTS) Team to support the advancement of the Rook I Project. As a key technical leader, the successful applicant will develop a deep understanding of the Arrow deposit and translate that knowledge into mine-focused geological systems, drilling programs, and production support. This role will be foundational in establishing the mine geology function ahead of production and will provide direction to future core loggers, geotechnicians, and junior geologists.
Responsibilities
- Develop an expert-level understanding of the Arrow deposit, becoming the primary geological authority for mine-related drill planning, geologic interpretation, and production-focused logging.
- Compile, integrate, and interpret historical geological information, including technical reports, drillhole data, geophysical datasets, mapping, and QA / QC records.
- Lead and execute ongoing resource model updates, validating existing grades and geological domains in support of mine design and production scheduling.
- Manage external consulting geologists and subject matter experts.
- Design and implement an underground geological mapping system that integrates 3D models, 2D mapping data, and new underground observations.
- Develop production geological reporting systems, including templates, workflows, and regulatory-compliant documentation required for submission to the Province of Saskatchewan.
- Lead sampling program management, including ongoing metallurgical sampling and geotechnical and geomechanical sample programs.
- Drive Arrow-specific data management, working with the corporate Database Manager to organize, maintain, and update geological datasets.
- Coordinate and liaise with key consultants, including resource estimation consultants, geotechnical, geometallurgy, and other subject matter experts as needed.
- Support the Exploration Team as required, including greenfield deposit modelling, metallurgical sampling programs, and geotechnical initiatives that relate to Arrow or future brownfields targets.
- Working closely with Mine Planning and Development teams to align drill target locations with lateral development advance schedules. Prioritizing diamond drill holes to support short-term stope definition, medium-term resource conversion, and longer-term orebody growth.
- Work closely with contracts team to advance any drilling contracts.
- Closer to Construction and Operations, lead the resource management and production geology functions, including grade control programs and supervision of mine geology team (geologists, core loggers, and geotechnicians).
