Our client is looking for a skilled Operational Senior Claims Leader to oversee our technical large loss team.
If you have experience managing managers, managing large property losses in excess of $1 million, and a property appraisal (restoration) background, this could be a good opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leadership and Development : Lead and mentor a team focused on delivering business outcomes, strategies, and goals. Foster an environment where employees excel and achieve their career aspirations.
- System Improvement : Collaborate with your team to enhance systems that impact customer service, employee satisfaction, and financial performance. Identify and address areas for improvement, focusing on waste reduction and operational efficiency.
- Risk Management : Oversee operational risks associated with the team’s work, ensuring effective management and control.
- Role Modeling : Demonstrate Company values and leadership culture through effective communication, collaboration, and a clear vision for achieving desired outcomes.
- Process Optimization : Develop, refine, and monitor claims standards, best practices, risk controls, and training content. Manage functional IT projects related to claims.
Key Accountabilities :
Team Oversight : Manage the quantification team, including large loss appraisers, review desk evaluators, vendor managers, pricing specialists, and a technical restoration expert.Strategy and Governance : Create and implement strategies to enhance technical capabilities, ensure governance and control on pricing, and optimize workflows to achieve financial targets.Compliance and Best Practices : Ensure adherence to standards and best practices. Identify opportunities for improvement, propose solutions, and monitor their effectiveness.Collaboration : Align the quantification team with other business units and the broader Property & Specialty Department. Foster a coaching culture to build team capabilities.Expert Management : Utilize your deep understanding of the end-to-end claims process to manage vendor performance, oversee quantification for large and attritional property claims, and address complex issues.What You'll Bring to the table :
Technical Expertise : Strong background in technical construction and estimating for large loss quantification.Education and Certification : Post-secondary education with a CIP / FCIP designation.Leadership Experience : Proven experience in leadership roles within the insurance industry, including performance management and career development.Continuous Improvement : Experience or education in continuous improvement practices.Communication Skills : Excellent communicator with the ability to engage, advocate, and influence at all organizational levels.Project Management : Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with an analytical and creative approach to problem-solving.Benefits :
