The Opportunity :

Reporting to the Vice President Product Development the Senior Cloud Architect will lead the modernization of a portfolio of VM-based enterprise applications into a unified cloud-oriented platform that combines VMs containers FaaS / serverless and a modern data layer optimized for time-series workloads (including migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL) with clear KPIs for performance stability and availability.

The Senior Cloud Architect defines the target cloud architecture and roadmap to evolve from fragmented VM-centric applications and Oracle databases to a cohesive platform built on modern cloud services PostgreSQL-based data stores and well-defined service-level objectives. The role partners with product engineering security and operations to design govern and guide implementation of a resilient secure observable and costefficient cloud platform.

Location of Position :

This is a hybrid role based in our Burnaby BC office.

Specifically the Senior Cloud Architect will :

• Assess the current application integration and infrastructure landscape (VMs Oracle databases data flows) and define a target-state architecture and phased modernization roadmap (rehost replatform refactor consolidate).
• Design a hybrid cloud platform that supports VMs containers and FaaS / serverless including :

Container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes / EKS / AKS / GKE or equivalent).
