Summary
Reporting to the Manager- Shipping / Receiving, the Material Handler performs inventory related activities related to all materials received. The Material handler loads, unloads and moves materials within plant, warehouse, storage facility or worksite and assembles and issues component kits to support product manufacturers.
As a Material Handler, your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) :
- Receives products, components from Incoming Receiving / Inspection, ensuring accuracy
- Places into inventory any received materials in accordance with internal processes
- Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
- Prepares material kits to the production floor in accordance with internal processes
- Attaches tags or labels to materials or otherwise marks information
- Opens containers using box cutter, steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
- Conveys materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas to include the manufacturing floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, Forklift, or other device
- Provides support to Incoming Receiving and Planning as needed
- Works under general supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity
