About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator-Fitter to join their team in Kitchener. This is a newly created position due to the company’s growth, and it offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to exciting projects and make a real impact. You will be working in their fabrication facility, where you’ll focus on fitting and welding to produce high-quality structural components.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Layout, cut, and fabricate structural steel, plate, and various metals including mezzanines, staircases, and handrails.
  • Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to create frames, plates, girders, and chutes for further assembly.
  • Perform welding and bolting to complete assemblies, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Conduct self-checks to maintain high standards and meet "right-the-first-time" quality goals.
  • Utilize material handling and rigging equipment to move and manage materials and assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety regulations.

What We’re Looking For :

  • Red Seal Metal Fabricator (Fitter) or equivalent experience (preferred but not required).
  • At least 2 years of experience in structural steel fitting and welding, including experience with handrails, staircases, platforms, and catwalks.
  • Proficiency in GMAW, MCAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
  • Skilled in using various tools and equipment for metal fabrication and welding.
  • Current or prior CWB Certification and a valid 437A Welder / Fitter qualification are preferred.
