Nanny

Hi there,

We are a family based in Nanaimo, BC looking for a caring, dependable, and present nanny to support our 13-month-old daughter. This is a part-time, live-out position starting as soon as we can!

Our home is warm, active, and community-oriented. We both work in youth development and wellness programming, and our schedules can be full but family always comes first. We value kindness, reliability, and creating a calm, respectful environment for our daughter to grow in.

Our little one is curious, social, playful, and deeply loved. We are hoping to find someone who truly enjoys spending time with toddlers - reading, playing on the floor, going for walks, singing songs, exploring outdoors, and supporting her development in a gentle, engaged way. We value responsive, respectful caregiving and someone who feels confident navigating toddler emotions with patience and warmth.

Schedule & Hours

We are currently looking for support Monday-Thursday from approximately 2 : 30pm–7 : 30pm (around 20 hours per week).

These will be the consistent core hours. That said, because of our community programming work, there may occasionally be slight adjustments needed with advance notice. We aim to provide as much predictability as possible and deeply respect everyone’s time. Some flexibility is appreciated, but stability is important to us.

Role & Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be caring for our daughter. During naps or quiet time, we would also appreciate light household support such as :

Tidying toys and common areas

Light kitchen clean-up

Simple, healthy meal prep

Folding laundry or light organizing

Nothing heavy, just helping our home flow smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

Experience caring for infants / toddlers

Warm, engaging, and emotionally attuned

Dependable and communicative

Comfortable in a home where parents may occasionally be working from home or coming and going

CPR / First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)

We are offering $25 / hour for the right fit.
