We have an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Technician at our Brampton Extrusion Plant.
Can Art Aluminum Extrusion is a privately held North American based extruder of standard and custom aluminum profiles. Can Art has grown from a single press operation in 1988 to the multi plant, multi press operation that we are today.

Position Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible to ensure all aspects of the manufacturing process conform to customer and internal quality requirements, and that only good quality products are being produced and shipped to customers.
What You'll Do
Inspect material for compliance to drawings, dimensional and surface finish inspectionQuality System Documentation : Assist in maintaining process control documents (SOPs, control plans, risk assessments) to support ISO requirements.Auditing : Conduct internal product and process audits; assist in supplier audits; document non-conformities and track closure.Customer Support : Collect and analyze data to support responses to customer complaints; prepare documentation for customer quality reviews.Perform and manage calibration activities across all plant equipment, devices, and gauges, including recall, scheduling, and records management.Problem Solving : Participate in corrective action teams using structured tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).New Product Support : Assist with quality inspections and documentation during introduction of new products or processes.Continuous Improvement : Track quality performance metrics (scrap, rework, complaints) and support initiatives to reduce defects.Review and disposition material on hold and material returns (RMA) due to quality issuesCollect and analyze data and samples in support of quality assurance, inventory control and production posting aspects of EPICSIdentify, prepare and machine tensile samples. Perform tensile testing for mechanical properties and enter them in EPICSResponsible for completion of PPAP submissions with paperwork as per customer requirementsAudit material hardness prior to packagingAssist production with directing and training temporary and new employees in quality standardsProvide manufacturing information by compiling, sorting, and analyzing productionMaintain performance records by conducting quality auditsWork closely with Die Shop and Sales departments to improve extrusion profile dimensions and surface qualityMaintain a safe and clean workspace at all timesResponsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company PoliciesWhat You Bring
Post-Secondary Diploma in Quality Assurance or similar programProficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suites, ERP systemsExperience in a manufacturing plant is an assetRequired Skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbalProficiency with precision measuring tools including mechanical testing equipmentStrong knowledge of calibrationStrong time management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentMust be a quick learner with professional attitudeTeam player who is able to self-direct with little or no supervisionStrong attention to detailKnowledge of health and safety best practices in a manufacturing environmentWorking Conditions
