The Mining Association of Canada (MAC) is the national organization for the Canadian mining industry. Its members account for the majority of Canada’s production of base and precious metals, uranium, diamonds, metallurgical coal and mined oil sands, and are actively engaged in mineral exploration, mining, smelting, refining and semi-fabrication. Representing members committed to sustainability, MAC’s Towards Sustainable Mining ® ( TSM ®) initiative is an award-winning and world-leading standard that fosters continuous performance improvement in environmental and social mining practices.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Regulatory and Indigenous Affairs, MAC is seeking a highly- motivated individual with experience in chemical and environmental management policy to be the Association’s policy lead and technical expert on issues related to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act including the National Pollutant Release Inventory and the Chemicals Management Plan, circular economy, product stewardship, Fisheries Act, aquatic species, marine protected areas, and other emerging and related issues.
