THE ROLE
Our Tier 1 automotive manufacturing client is seeking an Engineering Welding Assistant Manager to join their Plant Leadership Team within a world-class manufacturing environment. This is a permanent, full-time leadership opportunity with a well-established automotive manufacturer committed to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and employee development.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you will guide and support the Welding Engineering team while driving plant projects, new program launches, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure engineering projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys coaching teams, managing complex projects, and playing a key role in the long-term success of a growing manufacturing operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and support the Welding Engineering team in the execution of plant projects and new program launchesOversee the implementation and follow-up of new programs, ensuring quality, productivity, and equipment performance targets are achievedTrack and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to engineering milestones, program launches, and deliverablesPrepare engineering documentation, reports, charts, and records to support projects and auditsDevelop and support investment cost justifications for new equipment and process improvementsSupport the execution of engineering changes, quality initiatives, productivity improvements, and cost-reduction programsEstablish and refine engineering methods, standards, and proceduresREQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline , or an equivalent combination of education and experienceEngineering experience within a manufacturing environment (automotive experience preferred)5+ years of engineering experience is considered an asset3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an assetExperience with robotic welding integration, optimization, and continuous improvement is a strong assetDemonstrated people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, delegation, and motivating teams#INDSTRIVEON
