Medical Device Reprocess Tech

RVH is the largest surgical program in the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network. (NSM LHIN) As a member of the Medical Devise Reprocessing team the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) will reprocesses all reusable medical devices / equipment, flexible endoscopes and supplies. The MDRT adheres to specific guidelines and standards set by organizations such as CSA (Canadian Standards Association), PIDAC (Provincial Infections Diseases Advisory Committee), and MDRAO (Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario).

POSITION SUMMARY

The MDRT works in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and accuracy is essential. In this role you will be expected to work within a team environment. working in areas including Scope Reprocessing and Medical Device Reprocessing. The day-to-day activities / priorities change and the MDRT must be flexible and able to adapt with the changing priorities of the Operating Room and clinics within the Healthcare Centre. The MDRT works within the various Medical Device Reprocessing areas to provide reprocessed medical devices and scopes for the operating room, surrounding area clinics, and inpatient units. As part of the Part Time Master rotation, the MDRT rotates through day, evening, night, and weekends shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least one of the following to be considered for this position :

• Successful completion of a Sterile Processing / Medical Device Technician Course through an accredited College with proof of completed practicum within the last 2 years, or;
• CSA Canadian Medical Device Reprocessing Technician certification (valid within the last 5 years), with 1 year of current medical device reprocessing work experience, or;
• Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario (MDRAO) course (valid within the last 5 years), with 2 years of current medical device reprocessing work experience
