Senior Business Analyst

We are seeking to hire a dynamic and experienced Business Analyst who also possesses strong project support skills. The ideal candidate will be looking for a dual role where they can lead analysis efforts and support project management requirements as needed. This role requires someone with a proven track record in gathering and documenting requirements, analyzing business processes, and making informed recommendations. Additionally, the candidate should have a deep understanding of project lifecycles and the ability to support project managers in achieving objectives within scope, time, and budget constraints. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities, as well as the flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and support the project management function where necessary. This Business Analyst role is for a post-secondary education client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT business analysis with proven experience working on previous education projects.

Responsibilities
Lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions.
Analyze and document business processes, data flows, and system interactions.
Develop clear and concise functional and non-functional specifications.
Support project managers in planning, executing, and closing IT projects.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders and project teams.
Ensure compliance with educational regulations and standards.


Qualifications
8+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, specifically within the post-secondary and/or education sector, with a strong background in IT business analysis.
Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and tools.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
CBAP/CCBA and/or project management training (e.g., PMI-PBA or IIBA-CBAP certification).
Experience working on Security and Infrastructure specific projects, ideally with Azure.
Strong requirements gathering skills, including conducting workshops.
Strong business process skills, with an emphasis on business process re-engineering and experience with process mapping.
Experience with gap analysis, including creating and maintaining documentation such as current state, future state, and gap analysis documentation.
Experience working on projects involving application/package selection.
