What you’ll do The successful candidate will teach CMNS 100 Introduction to Workplace Communication to various Capilano University students, including those enrolled in diverse certificate, diploma and degree programs for the Fall 2024 term (1 section, in-person, on our North Vancouver campus).
Specifically, the instructor will lead the course in developing students’ skills around writing clear and organized correspondence, common workplace documents such reports and proposals, and job-search related documents such as cover letters and resumes that are needed to begin a positive online career portfolio.
In the School of Communication , we pride ourselves on the balance we offer our students between practical communication skills and theoretical courses based on the theories of communication. Instructors who led many of our writing, editing and production of journalistic content courses have recently retired, creating this coveted opening in our School.
As a non-regular faculty member associated with the Faculty of Business and Professional studies, you will be instrumental in helping learners to communicate effectively, with clarity and concision. The successful candidate will show a strong commitment to mentoring students from a wide range of backgrounds.
