We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Process Packaging Engineer in the manufacturing industry to join the growing team for our client in Halton region.
You will document all engineering protocols and develop all engineering and manufacturing specification, and work closely with Project Management and Sales teams to ensure packaging components meet all internal and external requirements. Provides final release of packaging to production.

Thorough knowledge of how production lines and other manufacturing processes operateEfficient problem-solving skillsExcellent coordination skills to enable cooperation with technical staff and managementAbility to respond quickly to unplanned events or challenges, such as the breakdown of a machineEffective communication and reporting skills for meetings with management to keep them informed of important developments.Support in addressing manufacturing process issues, including issues with packagingDevelop packaging concepts to align with finished product concepts ensuring compatibility of packaging with manufacturing equipmentWork closely with Project Management and Sales teams to ensure packaging components meet all internal and external requirements. Provides final release of packaging to production.Provide technical support to manufacturing as it relates to manufacturing and product packagingDocument all engineering protocols and develop all engineering and manufacturing specificationPrepare and document all test designs for packagingAnalyze and provide support to achieve customer and brand objectives with existing and new products while reducing production costReview all new technology and provide input on the impact to current packaging and productionResponsible for assessing and sourcing sustainable packaging solutions for existing and future business. Ideally candidate has a good network of suppliers and a good understanding of new technologies and materialsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, packaging engineering, packaging development, or quality engineeringDemonstrated team leadership (cross functional or indirect leadership)Project management skills including the ability to organize and manage multiple, complex projects involving multiple departments and stakeholders both internally and externallyA demonstrated ability to select and apply sound engineering practices and principles to the design and development of high-volume consumer products packagingStrong background and proven results in Leading Continuous Improvement efforts through the application of Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma ActivitiesDemonstrated track record of execution; proven history of taking new products to marketCuriosity and a thirst for learnings and be ahead of what is coming and where packaging is goingExperience with regulations and requirements such as cGMP, SOPs, OHS, ISO and NHP would be an assetExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSummary
