The Financial Controller, US is responsible for assisting in the leadership and execution of the Company’s finance function, particularly with respect to its US operations. The successful candidate will be an individual with a strong accounting background, who has experience leading a detail-oriented team, who can work with individuals across multiple disciplines to ensure accurate internal and external financial reporting, improvement of key processes and development of team members.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Lead team to ensure financial transactions are recorded in an accurate and timely manner
- Collaborate internally to improve financial processes to achieve efficiencies and key financial and non-financial goals of the Company
- Manage the integrity of accounting records to ensure information is accurate and complete
- Responsible for the implementation and execution of internal controls
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and regional tax requirements
- Collaborate with auditors and coordinate with internal team to complete annual financial statement audit
- Participate in cash management functions through the review and validation of cash outflows.
Projects & Other Responsibilities
- Support the integration of acquisitions, aligning processes and controls with requirements of existing operations and systems while considering the needs of the business
- Lead special project teams to analyze, initiate and execute new finance initiatives.
- Develop relationships with operating teams to understand nature of the business, key revenue and cost drivers and operational challenges.
- Collaborate with Director, Finance and Corporate Controller to tackle other challenges as required
- Manage and mentor finance team to create a supportive and high performing work environment

Qualifications
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation is required
- 5+ years’ experience in finance in a management capacity is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and abilities to be a key team player
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn, grow and develop in the role and into the future
- Experience working with U.S. operations is considered an asset
