Position Summary

Under the direction of the Finance Controller the Junior Accountant supports the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs Inc. (AMC) financial operations by assisting with day-to-day accounting functions maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable functions such as data entry payment preparation vendor account reconciliation and batch review
• Assist with accounts receivable processing such as cash application and customer account reconciliation
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Prepare adjusting journal entries
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist in preparing financial reports schedules and summaries as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails
• Support internal and external audits as needed
• Maintain organized financial files and records
• Assist with payroll processing and benefit reconciliations as needed
• Respond to internal finance-related inquiries
• Ensure compliance with internal policies
• Provide backup support for other finance team members
